CNS 5513: Project Management and Controls (F)
Prerequisites: none; required enrollment first semester of attendance - Fall
Detailed application of construction cost estimating and critical path scheduling for project control systems. Synthesis of construction management knowledge by application on a typical construction project.

CNS 5523: Design-Build Contracting (Sp)
Prerequisites: CNS 5513
Evaluation of the life cycle of a design/build project. Focus on roles and relationships among the owner, designer and builder. Application of advanced cost estimating, proposal writing, performance criteria development and risk allocation via contract structure.

CNS 5613: Information Technology Applications for Construction (Sp)
Prerequisites: CNS 5513; required enrollment second semester of attendance - Spring
Participants explore required Construction Administration processes and documentation, utilize industry and classroom interaction to explore the application of available digital information management technologies in the construction process, create and incorporate digital resources into linear and nonlinear presentation formats and explore communication potential in the construction marketplace for the world wide web.

CNS 5623: Construction Contracts and Finance (Sp)
Prerequisites: CNS 5513
Development of techniques for economic analysis of construction. Exploration of the legal issues most critical to construction administration.

CNS 5813: Facilities Acquisition Planning (F)
Prerequisites: none
How to buy building design and construction services from the owner's perspective.

CNS 5823: Quality Management in Construction (F)
Prerequisites: CNS 5513 or concurrent with CNS 5513 (with special permission of Graduate Liaison)
Exploration of quality management, productivity evaluation and problem solving skills for construction decision making.

CNS 5940: Construction Industry Practicum (F, Sp, Summer)
Prerequisites: permission of Graduate Liaison and designated faculty; may be repeated for a maximum of three (3) hours
Utilize construction work experience to prepare for construction management functions. Student is responsible for finding the activity and proposing a work related project. Elective class.

CNS 5952: Special Studies Presentation (F, Sp, Summer)
Prerequisites: permission of Graduate Liaison and Committee Chair; may be repeated for a maximum of six (6) hours
Credit for presentation of the required special studies project selected by the student and advisory committee.

CNS 5960: Directed Reading (F, Sp, Summer)
Prerequisites: permission of Graduate Liaison and designated faculty; may be repeated for a maximum of six (6) hours
Selected topics in construction administration.

CNS 5993: Special Studies Research (F, Sp, Summer)
Prerequisites: permission of Graduate Liaison and Committee Chair; may be repeated for a maximum of six (6) hours
Credit for applied research for the special studies project selected by the student and advisory committee.
